This place has great things, fresh vegetables, meat, dairy section, lots of variables to choose from, has many fast foods like: chips, Doritos, takis, cheetos, ruffles and much more, sodas like coca cola, fanta, sprite,jarritos, they also have some energy drinks, they also have a whole baked goods section, and ice cream containers. The bad part is that the machines ar check out have some mistakes if you pass the items too fast, but its fixable since there are assistants to help you with that, i've lived 3 years in elgin and i gotta say that The Fresh Market is the shop i have visited the most.

Its the place where if youre mexican or love mexican cooking, its the place to go. Fruits and vegetables are good. They do have food already made which is a big plus. They have a bakery which is another plus. The only reason I give it a 3 stars its because on the self checkout lanes the workers are hovering over your shoulder like a hawk. You would think those workers are the owners of the establishment.

I love Elgin Fresh Market! Besides coming here for groceries, I love their Bakery options with some of my favorite pan dulce options. And it is often that I will stop by to pick up an order of their carnitas combos which are super reasonable. Some of their grocery items are a little higher priced in my opinion but you can count it on it being fresh and authentic. Whenever antojitos are calling, this is a nice local grocery store! It’s also nostalgic for me as it also reminds me of my childhood, going to the Hispanic fresh markets with my family.

Talk about not honoring the price they have; all of the containers of 'cueritos', the product were at $ 15 marked with a sharpie because they were on sale, I scanned them and they were 16.99. it's not that I care that much about those 2 dollars, but the way Ray (the guy that was in charge of fixing the price handled the situation), he didn't even go check the price for himself, nor sent someone there to check it he was just stubborn about the price is what is scanned. Shameful way to treat your clients. Of course, I go for service and being a shopping place, I have to rate it a 1 star all dependent on service quality.
